In the hustle and bustle of the holidays and Christmas right around the corner, students on college campuses across the nation are doing one of two things. They are either sweating profusely or breathing a sigh of relief. The first semester of the 04/05 school year is about to end and finals are next week.

Some students will be headed home eager to put their feet up on the couch and enjoy Christmas with their families without worrying about school for 3 weeks. Most students will undoubtedly go home in search for a job, so that in January, they will have something else to eat besides peanut butter and jelly and ramen noodles. There will be a select few however who will be deciding what they want to do with their lives. Whether they have been in school far too long or are a lucky one to graduate earlier than four long years, they are our December graduates.

Whichever group students fall into- another decision that they are making is whether they will attend Campus Crusade for Christ’s Christmas Conference. Christmas Conference is a regional conference held annually across the nation between Christmas and the beginning of spring semester and has less to do with Christmas than it does with spiritual growth and meeting God in a comfortable environment.

Our regional Christmas Conference is held in Indianapolis, IN each year from December 28th through January 1st.
On average, 2,500 students will attend from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Many of these students are involved in the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ on their campus. Some however, have not yet experienced a relationship with Jesus Christ and have come to hang out with their friends.

Christmas Conference is a great place for students to renew their relationship with God or even START ONE. It is designed with speakers and activities which help to mentor students along on their spiritual journey, with the goal of living a Holy Spirit filled life.

While at Christmas Conference, Campus Crusade has partnered with local churches for many years to reach out to the community around and within the city. One way that we do this is through distributing “Boxes of LOVE.” These boxes have food, Bibles, toys and other living essentials that every family needs. A “Box of Love” has been and continues to be a doorway into peoples lives. Through this event, Christ has led many individuals, as well as the students involved, to make a decision and begin a relationship with Him.

Christmas Conference is also a place that God uses to call His people, as He did me, to pursue a full time commitment to work for His kingdom. At Christmas Conference students and staff are able to explore what God is doing through many of the ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ all over the world and see what their part could be in His plan. God has used Indy- Christmas Conference to touch the lives of students, His people and those who do not yet know Him around the world and we have NO reason to suspect that will ever change.

We are attending this years Christmas Conference for the first time as staff with Campus Crusade for Christ to help facilitate this process. We would not be going if it were not for your prayers and support. Thank you for the vital role you play in helping us reach the students in our region and around the world for Christ.
