May05 :: Thanks
Ryan | 4.28.05Thanks
Rachel and I want to spend this month in thanks to you for praying and supporting our ministry through our support raising process. We know that we a privileged to have you on our team remembering what Paul wrote to the Philippians…
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
We feel blessed to have your partnership in the gospel.
Update!
When we first started raising our support, we felt a strong urgency to get to Indianapolis as quickly as possible. It was so easy to wait on God’s timing and to trust Him for our support.
As time wore on, and the people who were interested seemed to dwindle down to only a few, it became more and more difficult to make a phone call, to try to meet more people, and to pray, as we felt lost and discouraged.
As we study God’s Word and learn that it took Paul 14 years before he was ready for ministry and it took 100 years before Noah saw any rain, we have seen some growth in our lives. We have become encouraged and hopeful once again, that God is working with His timing, and not ours. We had set some goals when we wanted to be in Indianapolis, but now, they are God’s goals. Whenever He wants us there is now our expected arrival date.
We have learned some amazing things about God’s character during this difficult, yet joyful time. God has never let us down. We have always had enough, if not more, to live on. He found this amazing apartment for us, for a good price and great location. He has drawn us nearer to Him as we learn to depend on Him more and more. He has taught us patience and humility. And, above all, He has been preparing us and our marriage for a life of ministry.
As much as this time has tried us, we have enjoyed almost every minute. We have loved meeting and talking with every one of you, as we get to know you and see your heart for the Lord and for reaching the lost. Many of you have encouraged us and challenged us to really draw near and strive to become better.
We consider this time a privilege and we know that the Lord is using this time to prepare us and strengthen us. We are so excited and thankful to have your partnership during this time.
We are seeing some amazing things happening as we strive to be faithful stewards of our time and resources. We feel, once again, the urgency to get on campus as soon as possible. We have seen an increase in the number of people who are excited about campus ministry and have seen how so many are so willing to do whatever it takes to further God’s Kingdom.
We are running the race to reach the prize and we are so grateful to have you alongside us. Thank you for all that you have done, praying for us and supporting us as we continue this journey.
In HIM,
