After two amazing, exhausting, refreshing weeks at our National Staff Conference in Colorado, we are finding it difficult to accurately portray our experience to others. How do you explain two weeks of worship, inspiring talks, motivational seminars, and awesome stories of God’s work around the world to someone who was simply not there?
As we sort through the books and papers we collected during this time, we are reminded of the focus of many of the meetings that we went to. We heard from John Piper, Joe Stowell, and our president, Steve Douglass, among others. All of them encouraged us to draw near to the Lord and to make sure our walk with Him is the topmost priority in our lives.
Many of you have personally experienced the struggle with task-oriented ministry. There is so much to do and it is never ending. There is always one more person, one more event, one more book to read, one more seminar to attend and one more Bible study to plan. It is easy to get carried away by what is good and our love for ministry but, neglect to spend time with our Creator and Father.

Although we are not in full-time ministry yet, we see how fast we can lose our priorities and get distracted by “good” things. We have heard about it from our staff friends and have witnessed the busyness of ministry firsthand as students.
Every main session that we attended continually drew us back to a renewed relationship with the Lord. Both of us needed to hear this, to be reminded that we are not forgotten by the Lord. At times, we struggle with this, as we long to have our support completed and be in Indy, ministering to students.
Those two weeks in Colorado were so rejuvenating and motivating. We come back with fresh hearts, minds, and souls. We are motivated like never before to pray and trust that the Lord will bring in our support soon. We feel the urgency to find more people who are willing to partner with us.
Even today, the Lord reminded us in Isaiah 1, to be willing and obedient, and we shall eat the good of the land. Please pray for us, that we will have willing and obedient hearts, so that we will work hard at what He has called us to. Honestly, we would rather be on campus than raising support, but this is where He has us for now, and we trust His wisdom and timing. Pray for our hearts to be willing to submit to the responsibilities of where we are.
We are so grateful for all of you, praying for us and supporting us financially. We know that your investments will result in many coming to know the Lord. We also trust that God will honor His Word and bless you as you continue to give. Thank you once again.
In HIM,
Please Pray
> That Rachel and I would be diligent with our time spent communicating with individuals as well as our responsibilities in our training.
> That the Lord would bless the students in our region and in the Indiana Catalytic Schools as they start school this fall and trust God for their ministries to grow and their lives to be an impact for the Gospel.
> That we would continue to meet people who are excited to partner with us.
