August06 :: Trust the Lord’s Sovereignty

This month, Rachel and I are excited to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives through your prayers and financial support.

Early in July, we still needed to raise about $1000 a month. But, we knew that the school year was approaching and if we were going to buy a house in Indianapolis, we had better start checking out the area.

So, on July 7th, Rachel and I, accompanied by my father, went down to Indy to look at houses. We looked all morning and got a good idea of what we liked and where we wanted to be located. We found a couple houses that we could “live in”, but none that we really thought were perfect.

After a brief lunch break, we went out looking at a few more. The first house of the afternoon was a little bit of a fixer-upper, but it was perfect. It is located 5 minutes from my office and Rachel will be centrally located for her assignment. We were instantly in love with this house and we knew we had to try an offer. We went back to the realtor’s office, put a bid on the house, and drove home dreaming of the ways we could fix it up the way we would want it.

All weekend long, we nervously bit our nails, waiting for the final answer. To our amazement, they took our offer! We celebrated, but we still had support to raise. Within a week of the acceptance, more than $500 of pledges came in for us. And now, two weeks later, we are within a couple hundred dollars, waiting for those pledges to come in.

We have been approved for our mortgage and the house passed inspection. We are in the final details, planning to close on July 28th. The house needs a lot of work, but we have a lot of help to fix it up nice. Please feel free to look at our pictures of the house. They are on our website: www.relevantmedia.org. After we fix the house up, we move in on August 8th and begin our first assignment on August 14th.

We are excited and grateful that so many of you have been behind us, praying for and encouraging us as we’ve struggled during the past two years. All that waiting and hoping and working have finally paid off and we rejoice as we prepare to move on to the next chapter of our lives. We are so grateful that the Lord has used you to do such a wonderful thing in our lives and we hope to do great work for the Lord.

Please Pray

> For the remaining pledges to come in quickly to complete our support.

> For a smooth transition moving to Fishers and starting in our ministry.

> For the hearts of college students to be prepared for the start of the new school year.
